Top 5 Amazing Southern California Lakes

If you too admire the beautiful places and heard about some Southern California Lakes but not sure which one actually worth your time, then you are at the right place because today you are going to know about the top 5 amazing Southern California Lakes.

1. Castaic Lake:

This lake is near the town of Castaic in the Sierra Pelona mountains of Northwestern Los Angeles County. It’s a nice place to explore, even I had a good fishing experience there and it seems that they keep fishes in the one section of the lake. The picnic area is spacious, however, the swimming area is a bit small but I did enjoy my time there. Paddleboard and hydro bikes are also available for rent. Workers were very helpful and friendly.

2. Diamond Valley Lake:

This lake is one of the largest and newest reservoirs in Southern California. When I visited there, all I found was peace because this place is not too crowded in nature. But please keep in mind the few things before visiting there:
•There are no restaurants or hotels
•You cannot go in the water
•The dogs are not allowed.
You can take your own boat or rent one of them. There’s a small aquatic park too. My fishing experience was very poor because I did not catch a single fish there. This place is so beautiful and peaceful and the flower trail was amazing. I use to go to the trails a lot.

3. Silverwood Lake:

Silverwood Lake is a large reservoir in San Bernardino County, California. This lake is great for family fun and parties. Most of the time, this place is busy and crowded. This place is for the party goers. If you are a party lover then you must visit this lake. It’s a nice place to watch the beautiful sunrise while sitting on shore. I also tried fishing there, but I was not able to catch anything. My pals did catch some fishes, maybe I am not that experienced or skilled.

4. Lake Gregory:

This is an artificial lake in the San Bernardino National Forest in California. This place will give you a unique outdoor experience. If you visit at the right time, you might be able to catch some events going on. Not sure if what events they have going on but it never hurts to see. Their boathouse and hours are from Friday – Sunday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm.
This lake is average if you compare it to other lakes but it’s beautiful and has a park too.

5. Lake Perris:

This artificial lake was made in 1973.This place is best suited for kids because they also have a beach in which kids can swim in the water. You can also drive your vehicle near the water. If you love boating, fishing and camping then this place is for you. I had amazing camping experience there. The campsite was relatively inexpensive.

In conclusion, I recommend visiting Castaic Lake if you are ever nearby. In addition, feel free to check out these remaining awesome lakes in Southern California. I have already compile a list for you.
